What if a student becomes ill during class?

    If they have to throw up, hopefully they make it to the trash can. Send them to the nurse and place trash can outside. Call janitors.

    Keep band-aids, Orajel, and Carmex in your room to save trips to the nurse.

    Of course, always follow your school policies first. But send them to the nurse in most cases.

    Keep calm, send the student to the nurse. Your calmness diffuses the situation.

    If the student has a larger problem (seizures come to mind) call 911 from the classroom then call the front office immediately. You should also make sure either you or the front office calls the parents.
